Fluttering Orange Leaves
I have a lot of photos of the few orange trees among the green, but that tree was the best. I took a few from far away to show the contrast, and the nice step like shape of the leaves. Then I got closer and tried to take one straight up. In that one, the leaves were really dark but the sky was really bright, so it was hard to edit them to a happy medium, but I think it looks good, and the leaves sticking out a bit farther than the rest look really cool with the light on them. On the other one, I didn't notice a railing was in the picture when I took it, but I was able to edit it out with the spot healing tool. I love the filters I used, and though I tried to use different ones for each photo, I would have used this multiple times if I didn't.
Little Berries Everywhere
I wanted to show how many berries there were in that area by taking big shots with lots of red dots in them. When editing them, I increased the contrast a lot to show them off. I didn't like the leaves in the top right corner of the photo, which I had not noticed when taking it. But though I blurred it, I couldn't find a way to get rid of it without the whole photo looking weird. And when I was combining the different filters, I thought the one I ended up using looked like an old painting, with lots of details and almost looked like it had engravings.
Infiltrated the Tree
I saw a red leaf that the wind must have blown over to a tree with all green leaves, and tried to put it against the bark in a bunch of different ways, but when I saw it against the other leaves I knew it was the best. There was also some grass that looked almost man made in the same area, so I put the leaf against it and tried to zoom in on the details of the leaf. When I went to editing, I got rid of some brown spots on both, and tried to give the leaf on the grass a glossy, fake look to go with the grass, and I like how it does really look like an unfinished painting in the end.
The Flowers and the Bee
I was not planning on taking any pictures on my walk home from school, but when I saw the butterfly I grabbed my phone as quickly as I could. The butterfly started to fly away, but I managed to get a not blurry picture before it got too far away. Then, I noticed the bee right next to it. When editing, my main goal was always to make it the most colorful it could. But I also sharpened the yellow of the flower in the bee picture, and that turned out great. In the butterfly one, I cropped it to follow the rule of thirds, and tried to use a lot of filters to give it a painting vibe well also showing detail. I think I did pretty well.
Peeking Around
I saw a yellow tree that stood out a lot, and thought it would be cool to play with my camera's focus some. When I took the one focused on the yellow tree, I cropped it to follow the rule of thirds, increased the contrast, burned the area around it, and basically did everything I could to draw the viewers eye to it. I was unsure when I finished, but when I looked at it again to post it here, I thought it turned out really well. With the other one, I loved how the out of focus area looked with the painting filter I added, but also the bark looks. You can really see the different colors and textures.
